Philmont High Adventure 2027

Philmont Scout Ranch, situated in the rugged Sangre de Cristo Mountains of northern New Mexico, offers one of the premier high-adventure experiences in Scouting. Troop 120 is going on a trek that will last 8 days. A typical trek covers 50 to 90 miles of backpacking through breathtaking wilderness, with elevation ranging from 6,500 to over 12,000 feet. Scouts will carry their gear, camp in backcountry sites, and participate in customised activities, such as rock climbing, blacksmithing, conservation projects, and summiting peaks like Mount Baldy. Crews are self-sufficient and learn teamwork, leadership, and resilience in a challenging but rewarding environment. This is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure that builds lifelong memories and friendships. Scouts who attend must be committed to physical training and participate in hikes that start a year and a half before the trip.
